New Westminster
New Westminster hours of work: Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday between 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Girder installation and bridge deck construction is ongoing for the north approach; Front Street will re-open at 6 a.m. on March 14

Starting on Monday, March 17, Fraser Crossing Partners will be conducting underground utility work on Royal Avenue at the entrances of Leopold Place and Bushby Street. This work will take approximately two days to complete.
Please be advised that while this work is underway, access in and out of Leopold Place and Bushby Street will be temporarily reduced between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.; however, one access will remain open at all times.

On Thursday, March 6 and Friday, March 7, Fraser Crossing Partners will be conducting nighttime hydrovaccing activities required in advance of building the foundations for new overhead and roadside guide signs at several locations in New Westminster. These locations include alongside Bridge Connector, Royal Avenue, Columbia Street, McBride Boulevard, and the Royal Avenue loop-ramp.
This work must be completed at night due to the required temporary single lane closures. Hydrovaccing activities will be completed as early in the evenings as possible.

Starting Tuesday, February 18, crews will install the overhang decks and remaining deck panels to complete the outer structure of the bridge deck across Columbia Street between McBride Boulevard and the existing bridge. This work will continue for approximately three weeks.
Traffic will be maintained in each direction. Nighttime traffic control will be implemented at night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Starting the week of January 27, Fraser Crossing Partners be conducting intermittent roadwork on Agnes Street, Dufferin Street, and Hastings Street. In mid-February, crews will then build curbs and pave all three roadways.
While this work is underway, temporary no parking will be in effect along Agnes Street between Dufferin Street and Hastings Street, along Dufferin Street between Royal Avenue and Agnes Street, and on Hastings Street.

Front Street between Begbie Street and E. Columbia Street has been closed since June for crews to build a temporary support tower, install steel girders, build the new bridge deck, and build a new drainage outfall under Front Street.
The Front Street closure will now extend to March 14, 2025, to complete the girder and deck panel installation over Front Street.

Starting the week of March 31, Fraser Crossing Partners will begin foundation construction for a new maintenance building located within the work area adjacent to Bridge Road and Musqueam Drive. This maintenance building will service the new bridge once complete.
Intermittent pile driving is required to complete this foundation work and will take place Monday to Saturday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for approximately two weeks.

As part of the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project, Highway 17 will be grade-separated over Old Yale Road, improving traffic flow on Highway 17. In summer 2024, the eastbound portion of the overpass was opened to traffic.
Construction of the westbound portion will continue in February, and to complete this work, the temporary restriction of Old Yale Road southbound across Highway 17 will remain in effect until early March. More information will be provided in advance of these construction activities.

Starting in early October, Fraser Crossing Partners will continue bridge deck construction over Highway 17. This will include installing the concrete overlay on top of the deck panels to complete the bridge deck structure and create a smooth surface before asphalt paving. The bridge deck concrete overlay construction involves placing formwork, reinforcement, pouring the concrete overlay, curing, and removal of formwork.
