Active Transportation Access
The stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge includes dedicated walking and cycling lanes, separated from traffic by a barrier on both sides of the bridge deck, and better connections to, from and near the bridge.
How to Cross the Fraser River
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will not be available on the stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge until the multi-use path on the east side of the bridge opens this spring. The multi-use path on the west side of the stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge will open by mid-2026.
Two options are available for pedestrians and cyclists who want to cross this section of the Fraser River before the multi-use path on the east side of the stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge opens this spring.
SkyTrain
SkyTrain continues to be available for pedestrians during standard operating hours, and for cyclists except westbound trains during weekday rush hours of 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and eastbound trains from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Signage is posted in the bridge head area with information on how to navigate to the closest SkyTrain stations.
